We appreciate your interest in contributing to the advancement of agricultural economics research. To ensure the quality and consistency of published works, we have developed the following guidelines to assist you (the authors) in preparing and submitting your manuscripts.
Manuscript Types
The journal publishes research articles, review articles, research notes, and communications in basic and applied research on economic aspects of agriculture and rural development. Comprehensive review articles in the area of agricultural economics (including livestock, horticulture, and fisheries), conference/symposia proceedings, and book reviews are also published in the Journal. To encourage young researchers, recent abstracts of M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses in agricultural economics are also published.
Manuscript Preparation
Size of papers
The length of research articles and review articles – including references, footnotes, appendices, tables, and figures – should not exceed 7,000 words. Allow 200 words for each table, graph, or image. Short communications and research notes should be limited to 3,500 words.
File type
Agricultural Economics Research Review accepts the manuscript in Microsoft Word only.
Title
The title should be concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
Authors
Please provide the complete affiliation of all the authors, along with their email addresses and the postal index number (PIN) of their address. Also, indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication.
Acknowledgements
Please provide acknowledgements or declare sources of funding.
Abstract
Please limit your abstract to 100 words, focusing on key motivations, findings, and implications. Authors must understand that the abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone.
JEL classification
Please supply the appropriate Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) codes. Authors can find the JEL classification guidelines by visiting the link here.
Keywords
Provide a maximum of 6 keywords immediately after the abstract. Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.
Footnotes
Please use footnotes only if placing the discussion in the text would impede readability. Please do not insert citations into footnotes.
Tables, graphs, and images
Please do not paste tables, graphs, or images into the Word document; instead, type into a comment box where you would like these placed. Please send tables in a separate Word document.
If you have generated graphs in Microsoft Excel, please caption these graphs and attach them in .XLS or .XLSX format to your email. If you have used R, MATLAB, STATA, or another application, please send us the graphs in PDF format (along with captions).
Title, headings, subheadings, and captions
Headings, subheadings, and captions should be concise. Limit headings to 25 characters (including spaces), and use Arabic numbers for numbering. Please limit subheadings to two levels.
References
References should be cited using the author-date system. Please follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition.
Submission
From July 2023 onwards, submit your manuscripts through this portal. Submissions through email will not be accepted after January 1, 2024.
Article Processing Charges
The journal does not charge any fees for processing articles. However, authors must be members of the Agricultural Economics Research Association (India).
